Speke Resort Munyonyo, one of the flagship hospitality properties owned by businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, hosted the induction seminar for members of Uganda’s 12th Parliament, bringing together newly elected legislators for an orientation ahead of the start of their parliamentary term.
The induction programme introduced Members of Parliament to their constitutional responsibilities, including legislation, oversight and representation, as they prepare to begin work in the new Parliament.
Held on the shores of Lake Victoria, the multi-day seminar utilised the resort’s conference facilities, accommodation and meeting spaces, providing lawmakers with an environment for training, discussions and networking during the orientation.
According to the resort’s management, hosting the induction reflects the continued confidence that government institutions place in Speke Resort Munyonyo as a venue for major national events.
“We are honoured to have hosted the induction seminar for Uganda’s 12th Parliament and to contribute to a process that prepares leaders for effective public service,” the resort’s management said, noting that the facility remains committed to supporting leadership development through world-class hospitality and conference services.
Speke Resort Munyonyo is part of the Ruparelia Group’s hospitality portfolio, which includes several of Uganda’s best-known luxury hotels. These include Speke Resort and Convention Centre, Kabira Country Club, Mestil Hotel & Residences, Speke Hotel Kampala, Forest Cottages, Bukoto Heights Apartments, Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Apartments, and Speke Apartments, serving both business and leisure travellers.
The properties have hosted numerous international conferences, diplomatic meetings, corporate events and high-profile guests over the years, contributing significantly to Uganda’s meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry.
Speke Resort Munyonyo itself has previously welcomed heads of state, senior government officials, diplomats, business leaders and international organisations for major regional and global events, including Commonwealth meetings, African Union engagements and investment forums.
The successful hosting of the 12th Parliament induction further strengthens the resort’s reputation as one of Uganda’s leading venues for government, diplomatic and corporate events, while highlighting the Ruparelia Group’s continued investment in the country’s tourism and hospitality sector.
