Man Who Claimed to Be Paul Kafeero’s Child Returns Home to Fort Portal, Received by Biological Parents and Relatives( WATCH VIDEO)

    By OnionJuly 2, 2026

Kafeero Ssentongo, one of the men who claimed to be a son of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Prince Paul Job Kafeero but was ruled out by a government DNA test, has returned to his home in Fort Portal, where he received a warm welcome from friends following the conclusion of the high-profile paternity dispute.

Videos circulating on social media show Ssentongo being greeted by a group of friends shortly after arriving in Fort Portal. The gathering marked his first public appearance since DNA results confirmed he was not biologically related to the late musician.

Ssentongo had emerged as one of the most prominent figures in the long-running inheritance dispute after publicly identifying himself as one of Paul Kafeero’s children. His resemblance to the late singer attracted widespread public attention and fueled speculation throughout the case.

However, DNA tests conducted by the Uganda Police Forensic Directorate and the Government Analytical Laboratory excluded him from the list of Kafeero’s biological children. The tests established that only four of the 25 people who submitted DNA samples were biologically related to the late Kadongo Kamu star.

Earlier reports also identified Ssentongo as Richard Happy Muhumuza. Relatives from Kabarole District said his biological parents are Mariam Birungi and Sylvester Rubanyi, also known as Kaija, both of whom are still alive. Family members said they were surprised by his claim that he was the late musician’s son.

The DNA exercise followed a court-approved exhumation of Paul Kafeero’s remains in an effort to resolve a nearly two-decade dispute over his estate. Authorities have since urged all unsuccessful claimants to accept the scientific findings as the administration of the late musician’s estate continues.
