A former Catholic sister who attracted widespread attention after her dismissal from a religious congregation has revealed that she has received more than 80 marriage proposals in just two months.
Kinse Shako Annastasia, a former member of the Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters (MOPHAS) in Nigeria, said the proposals began pouring in after she left convent life and became active on social media.
Despite the overwhelming interest, Annastasia said she has rejected every proposal, insisting that she is not prepared to rush into marriage.
“So far I have declined over 80 marriage proposals,” she said in a social media post, explaining that she wants to make any future decision carefully and honestly.
According to Annastasia, leaving the convent did not end the process of discernment that had guided her life for years. Instead, she said it made her more cautious about major life decisions, including choosing a life partner.
She noted that while many of the proposals came from people with good intentions, she was not convinced that any of them were the right fit for her future.
The former nun gained international attention after publicly claiming that some priests had pursued romantic relationships with her while she was serving in religious life. Following the controversy, she was dismissed from her congregation, a move that sparked intense debate on social media.
Since then, Annastasia has frequently spoken about her experience, maintaining that she chose to stand by what she believes is the truth despite the consequences.
“My dismissal from the convent was not accidental,” she previously said, arguing that she was removed after refusing situations she felt conflicted with her vows and personal convictions.
In recent months, Annastasia has also drawn attention for her dramatic transformation after leaving religious life. The former sister, once known for wearing traditional religious attire, now regularly shares photos and videos showcasing a modern fashion style.
Her new appearance has generated thousands of reactions online, with many followers praising her confidence and personal growth following her departure from the convent.
While speculation about her future continues to grow, Annastasia says marriage remains a possibility but insists she will only make that decision when she is fully convinced it is the right path.
For now, she says patience and honesty remain more important than accepting the dozens of proposals she continues to receive.
