Three men armed with pangas broke into a home in Kabaale B Ward, Katabi Town Council early on Sunday morning, robbing the occupants of Shs 570,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 before police surrounded the house and arrested them.
The incident happened at around 3:30 AM. When officers arrived and closed in on the residence, the suspects were found hiding in the ceiling.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the arrests, identifying the suspects as Sekitoleko Acram, Oluka Robert, and Mbazira Bashir.
“The suspects had hidden in the ceiling,” Mr Owoyesigire said.
Police recovered the stolen Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Shs 240,000, part of the money taken during the robbery. Mr Owoyesigire commended the community for their cooperation, saying it greatly contributed to the arrests.
