Ugandan Man Who Married Seven Wives in One Day Adds An Eighth One

    By Aijuka PeterAugust 10, 2025

The Mukono traditional healer who stunned the public last year by marrying seven women in one day is at it again. On Sunday, August 10, 37-year-old Ssalongo Habib Ssezinga, better known as “Nsikonnene,” set off to Nkokonjeru Town in Buikwe District to marry his eighth wife.

Dressed for celebration and joined by all seven of his current wives, Nsikonnene left his home in Namasengere Village, Kyampisi Sub-county, in a grand convoy. Around 30 boda bodas and 10 cars made up the procession, attracting the attention of residents along the route.

His wives, travelling in two separate vehicles, waved to cheering onlookers from the roadside. Nsikonnene, in his own car, returned the greetings as crowds chanted his name and praised him. In Kalagi Town, one man shouted, “You are a real man. All men should learn from you!”

Before reaching Nkokonjeru, the convoy paused so boda boda riders could refuel. Nsikonnene also took time to shop in Kalagi Town, buying a motorcycle, furniture, and other presents for his new bride’s family. The gifts, worth over Shs 50 million, were later confirmed by his associate, Dan Jolooba.

Speaking to a reporter by phone, Nsikonnene said marrying seven wives last year was only the beginning. “This eighth one will not be the last,” he declared.

The traditional healer has already fathered seven children with his seven wives, four boys and three girls. Interestingly, all of his wives live together under one roof, and two of them are biological sisters.

Far from being jealous, some of his wives expressed happiness about the new marriage. “We are escorting our husband to marry our sister,” one of them said with a smile.

The colourful journey to Nkokonjeru was a spectacle for many, adding yet another chapter to the story of a man whose polygamous lifestyle has brought him both fame and fascination.
