In a public statement issued on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, UBOS said the decision was taken following the Ebola disease outbreak reported in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the statement signed by UBOS Executive Director Dr. Chris N. Mukiza, the report dissemination will be broadcast live on UBC TV, NBS TV, NTV, BBS TV, TV West, and the UBOS YouTube channel.
“This has been occasioned by the Ebola Disease outbreak from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo,” the statement noted.
UBOS further informed all invited guests who had been expected to attend the event physically to instead follow the proceedings through the listed television stations and online platforms.
The Uganda Harmonised Integrated Survey Report is one of the country’s key statistical reports and provides important data used for planning, policy formulation, and monitoring socio-economic trends.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional vigilance over Ebola, with authorities emphasizing precautionary measures to prevent possible cross-border transmission.
