Police in Wakiso District have arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged aggravated defilement of an eight-year-old girl, following the circulation of a disturbing video on social media.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, Moses Ssebagala was apprehended after being identified in the footage, which reportedly showed the incident involving a juvenile.
“The suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody. He will be produced in court as investigations into the matter continue,” Kawala said.
Ssebagala, a boda boda rider, is a resident of Mabombwe Village in Wakiso District.
Police said the incident occurred on April 16, 2026, in Mabombwe village, Mabombwe parish, Mende Sub-county.
It is alleged that the victim had been outside with her sister when the suspect approached them, gave them a mobile phone to watch cartoons, and later committed the offence.
The case has drawn widespread attention after the video began circulating online, prompting swift action from authorities. Investigations remain ongoing as police work to establish the full details surrounding the alleged incident.
