Pupils Mob Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia for Autographs During Surprise Visit to Kampala Parents’ School

    By Aijuka PeterJuly 9, 2026

Excitement swept through Kampala Parents’ School on Wednesday after the institution’s chairman, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, made an appearance that quickly turned into a memorable moment for hundreds of pupils.

The learners rushed to greet the prominent businessman and educationist, forming long lines to shake his hand, request autographs and share brief conversations with him. The spontaneous reception filled the school compound with cheers, laughter and excitement as teachers watched the interaction unfold.

Many pupils eagerly handed over their exercise books and notebooks for Dr. Ruparelia to sign, while others simply wanted the opportunity to meet the man behind one of Uganda’s leading education institutions. The encounter highlighted the admiration many learners have for the school’s chairman, whose investments have contributed to the growth of education in Uganda alongside his ventures in real estate, hospitality and other sectors.

For the pupils, the visit was more than a chance to meet a public figure. It served as an opportunity to interact with someone they view as a symbol of hard work, innovation and academic excellence. The excitement reflected how influential role models can inspire children to set ambitious goals and believe in their potential.

Situated in Naguru, Kampala Parents’ School has built a reputation as one of Uganda’s top primary schools by combining strong academic performance with character development, leadership training and a wide range of co-curricular activities. The institution offers modern learning facilities, including science and ICT laboratories, a well-stocked library, sports grounds and a team of experienced teachers committed to nurturing learners.

The school’s academic record has remained impressive over the years. In the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), whose results were released earlier this year, Kampala Parents’ School once again posted outstanding results, with the vast majority of its candidates achieving Division One, further cementing its status among Uganda’s best-performing primary schools.

Beyond the classroom, the school continues to encourage pupils to excel in sports, music, debate, leadership programmes and community service, helping them develop into confident and well-rounded individuals prepared for the next stage of their education.

Wednesday’s warm reception for Dr. Ruparelia underscored the close relationship between the school’s leadership and its learners, with many pupils seizing a rare opportunity to personally thank and interact with the chairman whose vision has helped shape the institution’s continued success.
