Meet Tanzania President Samia Suluhu’s Beautiful Daughter Currently Working As Deputy Minister In Her Mother’s Govt

    By OnionMay 22, 2026

Tanzania has once again drawn regional attention following its recent general election and the re-emergence of  political focus on the family of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who was sworn in for another term after a closely watched electoral process marked by controversy and heightened tensions.

Among the figures attracting public interest is Wanu Hafidh Ameir, the daughter of President Samia, who is steadily building her own political identity within the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). Unlike other members of the presidential family who maintain a low public profile, Wanu has been active in politics for nearly two decades, positioning herself as one of the emerging political figures in Tanzania.

Born in 1982, Wanu has served as a Member of the House of Representatives in Zanzibar since 2005, a role that has kept her within the inner circles of CCM politics. Her long tenure in public office has often been cited as evidence of her political experience and growing influence within the party structure.

During the most recent election cycle, Wanu reportedly played a visible role in campaigning for her mother while also defending her own parliamentary seat successfully. This dual political engagement further reinforced her standing as a committed party member and a potential future leader within the Tanzanian political landscape.

Beyond her political career, Wanu is also known for maintaining a relatively private personal life, despite occasional public curiosity about her family and marriage. She is married to a former government minister, adding to her connections within the country’s political elite. The 2025 election period in Tanzania was widely reported to have been tense, with allegations of irregularities and unrest in some regions. Authorities imposed temporary restrictions, including internet disruptions, which were later eased following the conclusion of the electoral process.

As President Samia begins her new term, observers continue to watch whether Wanu Hafidh Ameir will expand her role further in government or maintain her current parliamentary responsibilities while shaping her political future within CCM.
