“My Money is Gone” – Drama as Man Returns From Saudi Arabia Only to Find His Father Spent Millions on New Wife and Her Children

What was supposed to be a joyful homecoming for Kevin Mworia from Mikinduri in Meru County reportedly turned into heartbreak after he returned from Saudi Arabia and allegedly discovered that the money he had spent years sending home had not been used as planned.

Kevin is said to have worked in Saudi Arabia for three years under difficult conditions, hoping to build a better future for himself back in Kenya. According to family sources, he consistently sent money to his father with clear instructions to build him a decent house before his return.

Reports claim the total amount he sent home over the years exceeded KSh 3 million.

But when Kevin finally completed his contract and came back home, he was reportedly shocked to find the house unfinished and far below what he had expected considering the amount of money he had sent.

Residents in Mikinduri now allege that part of the money was used by Kevin’s father to marry another woman who already had five children. Villagers further claim that some of the funds were spent supporting the new family, including paying school fees and meeting household expenses.

The story has sparked emotional reactions across the village, with many residents expressing sympathy for Kevin. Some said he was deeply hurt after realizing that years of sacrifice and hard work abroad had not produced the future he had dreamed of.

Cases involving Kenyans working overseas and later discovering their savings were misused by relatives have become increasingly common in recent years. Many migrant workers trust family members to handle investments and development projects while they are away, only to return and find things went terribly wrong.

Kevin’s ordeal has since triggered widespread debate online, with many people calling it a painful lesson about trust, accountability, and the risks of leaving major financial decisions entirely in the hands of relatives.
