Drama As Hospital Shuts Down After Ghosts Rape Nurses and Patients Mercilessly

    By OnionMay 24, 2026

A health clinic in Zimbabwe’s Umzingwane District has reportedly shut down after nurses and teachers claimed they were being sexually attacked by mysterious “invisible creatures,” triggering fear and confusion across the rural community.

The incidents are said to have happened at Shale Clinic in Matabeleland South Province, where health workers allegedly abandoned their posts following a series of disturbing nighttime experiences. According to reports by Platforms Africa and ZimLive, some residents believe the attacks are linked to tikoloshes, supernatural beings commonly associated with local folklore.

Villagers claim the strange incidents later spread to nearby Shale Primary School, where several teachers also reported unusual encounters and growing fear.

One resident, Themba Moyo, told ZimLive that two female nurses and a male health technician fled the clinic after repeatedly complaining of abuse during the night.

“The clinic is closed because two female nurses and a male health technician ran away after complaining that they were being sexually abused,” Moyo reportedly said.

According to villagers, some of the affected workers claimed they would wake up with signs suggesting sexual activity had taken place despite sleeping alone. Others allegedly suffered exhaustion, sleepless nights, and unexplained physical pain.

A local resident who spoke anonymously claimed one male health technician woke up with swollen private parts after what he described as a violent nighttime encounter.

Fear has now reportedly spread throughout the area, with some teachers at Shale Primary School threatening to stop working unless authorities intervene.

Residents also claimed some female teachers mysteriously woke up outside their homes, while others reported strange disturbances inside their rooms during the night.

The bizarre reports forced community leaders to organize emergency meetings, where villagers agreed to seek help from prophets and traditional healers.

According to reports, a self-proclaimed prophet from Rusape later carried out a cleansing ceremony and accused a local politician of being connected to the alleged supernatural attacks. The accusation reportedly caused tension in the community and led to the arrest of the prophets after the matter was reported to police. They were later fined and released.

However, local traditional healer Headman Nkala reportedly rejected the cleansing ritual, insisting the community needed what he described as “genuine” spiritual experts to deal with the matter.

Authorities have not officially confirmed the allegations, and no medical or scientific explanation has been provided for the claims made by residents and workers.

Despite the uncertainty, the story has sparked widespread debate across Zimbabwe and on social media, where many expressed shock at the claims while others questioned whether fear, superstition, or psychological stress may be fueling the panic.

The closure of the clinic has also raised concerns about access to healthcare services in the remote community, leaving residents uncertain about when normal operations will resume.
