Breakthrough in Entebbe!! Suspect Arrested in Murder of Elderly Couple

    By Aijuka PeterAugust 26, 2025

The shocking murder of David and Deborah Mutanga, an elderly couple from Entebbe, has taken a dramatic turn after police arrested one suspect linked to the case. The killings, which occurred in July 2025, shook the community and left many residents fearful and angry. The couple were well known for their kindness and involvement in local activities, making the crime even more heartbreaking.

Authorities said the arrest came after Uganda Police announced a UGX 50 million reward for anyone who could provide information on the suspects seen in a disturbing video connected to the murder. The bounty prompted numerous tips, helping detectives identify and track down the suspect. He is now in police custody, where investigators are questioning him to understand the motive behind the attack and to uncover whether others were involved.

As part of the investigation, police returned the suspect to the scene of the crime in what they called a “reconstruction exercise.” This helps investigators compare his story with forensic evidence and gather more details about how the murders happened. Officials are confident that additional arrests will follow as the investigation continues.

The arrest has brought some relief to the community, but many residents remain anxious. “We are happy at least one suspect has been caught, but we want full justice for Mzee Mutanga and his wife,” said a local resident. The case has also led to renewed calls for stronger neighborhood security and more effective policing in Entebbe.

Uganda Police have promised to pursue the case to its full conclusion. They emphasized that the murder of David and Deborah Mutanga will not go unpunished and that every lead will be followed until justice is served. The nation now waits to see what other details may emerge as the investigation deepens.
