The vehicle involved was an Isuzu Elf, registration number UBF 636F, which was carrying about thirty-five passengers traveling to a burial in Kassanda.

According to police, the vehicle lost control, went off the road, and overturned. Four people died instantly. They were identified as Anold Maniriho aged 43, Sekubulye Richard aged 36, Tumuranze Enid aged 40, and Kobusingye Edvina aged 23. All of them were residents of Kangoma ‘A’ in Rushango Town Council, Ibanda District.
