Shock as Ugandan TV Journalist Is Found Dead in Her Home

    By OnionJune 17, 2026

The Ugandan media fraternity is mourning the sudden death of former television presenter Angella Kabagambe, who was found dead at her home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Kabagambe, a well-known media personality who previously worked with TV West and later Uganda Catholic Television (UCTV), was discovered dead under circumstances that had not been publicly explained by Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities and family members had not yet released details regarding the cause of death, leaving many questions unanswered as news of her passing spread across the country.

The shocking development sparked an outpouring of grief from colleagues, friends, former viewers, and members of the media industry, many of whom expressed disbelief at the sudden loss of a woman they described as vibrant, dedicated, and passionate about serving her community.

Kabagambe was widely recognized in western Uganda, where she became a familiar face through her work at TV West. Her death has particularly shaken audiences across the Ankole, Kigezi, Tooro, and Bunyoro regions, where she enjoyed a loyal following during her years on television.

Social media platforms were flooded with tributes shortly after news of her death emerged. Former colleagues and viewers shared memories of her professionalism, warm personality, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

During her time at TV West, Kabagambe gained popularity as the host of several programs, including Ndyamusiimanta, Emikoro, and other weekend shows that attracted large audiences. Her engaging presentation style helped make her one of the station’s most recognizable personalities.

Many viewers also remembered her partnership with fellow presenter Kenneth Kanyesigye, popularly known as Brother Keno, with whom she featured on some of the station’s most successful programs.

Beyond her broadcasting career, Kabagambe was known for her involvement in community initiatives, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and Rotary activities. She frequently used her public platform to promote leadership, faith, personal development, and social transformation.

Following confirmation of her death, TV West paid tribute to its former presenter, remembering her dedication to the station and the impact she made on audiences across western Uganda. The broadcaster extended condolences to her family and prayed for strength and comfort during the difficult period of mourning.

Former colleagues described Kabagambe as hardworking, humble, and deeply committed to her profession, saying her death represents a significant loss to Uganda’s media industry.

As family members, friends, and colleagues continue to mourn, many are awaiting further information regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
