A road accident in Mubende District has left four people dead and twenty others injured. The crash happened on September 5, 2025, at around 4:30 in the morning along the Nabutiti–Kisujja section of the Kyegegwa–Mubende road. The vehicle involved was an Isuzu Elf, registration number UBF 636F, which was carrying about thirty-five passengers traveling to a burial in Kassanda. Senior Police Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Musa Walugembe, 45, was found dead at his home in Najjanankumbi, Kampala. Walugembe was the officer in charge of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). By press time, senior Police officials had not yet issued an official statement. Police in Arua City have arrested six Congolese nationals accused of attempting to circulate counterfeit US dollars, while several of their accomplices remain on the run.
