Kenyan TikToker and HIV awareness advocate Liza Achieng has claimed that several women have contacted her with requests to deliberately infect their cheating husbands or boyfriends with HIV in exchange for money.
Speaking in a series of videos posted on her TikTok account, Achieng said she has received phone calls and direct messages from women who obtained her contact details through her social media profile.
According to Achieng, some of the women allegedly offered her up to UGSh 1,500,000 to sleep with their partners as a form of revenge for infidelity.
She said she was shocked by the requests, describing them as disturbing and completely contrary to the message she promotes through her online platform.
Achieng explained that she uses her social media presence to educate the public about HIV, fight stigma surrounding the virus, and encourage people living with HIV to seek treatment and live healthy lives.
The content creator also clarified that she has remained committed to her HIV treatment and is now medically undetectable. She said an undetectable viral load means she cannot sexually transmit HIV to an HIV-negative partner, emphasizing the importance of consistent treatment and adherence to medication.
She urged women dealing with unfaithful partners to leave unhealthy relationships instead of pursuing revenge that could put other people’s lives at risk.
Achieng also encouraged people at risk of contracting HIV to seek preventive services, including long-acting HIV prevention medication available at selected health facilities.
She reminded the public that while HIV prevention medication significantly reduces the risk of infection, it does not protect against other sexually transmitted infections. She urged people to practise safe sex and undergo regular health check-ups.
To support her claims, Achieng said she plans to share screenshots of some of the messages she has received while concealing the identities of those involved to protect their privacy.
The TikToker revealed that she has been living with HIV for just over a year and said speaking publicly about her status is part of her effort to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage more people to get tested, seek treatment, and access accurate information about HIV.
