Former State Minister for Investment and Privatisation Evelyn Anite has dismissed rumours surrounding her removal from Cabinet, choosing instead to focus on her fitness, family and personal ventures.
Anite, who served in government for more than a decade, was among the ministers dropped during President Yoweri Museveni’s Cabinet reshuffle announced on May 26, 2026. She was replaced by Amina Mukalazi and later appointed Senior Presidential Advisor.
Since the reshuffle, speculation has circulated on social media about how the former minister has been coping with her departure from Cabinet. Some online reports even claimed she had been taken to rehabilitation following her exclusion from the new government lineup.
However, Anite has responded in her own style, using humour and light-hearted social media posts to dismiss the claims.
On Tuesday, she shared videos of herself working out at a gym, showing off her flexibility and appearing unbothered by the political changes.
“I am busy in the gym practising summer holidays style,” she wrote alongside one of the videos.
In another post, Anite reflected on life’s challenges, comparing them to a game of chess where success depends on planning ahead and staying prepared for unexpected developments.
“Life is like playing a chess game. You must be a strategic planner and thinker so as to be several steps ahead of the curve,” she wrote.
“That’s how I’ve lived my life. That’s why nothing surprises me in life.”
The comments drew attention online, with supporters praising her calm response to the Cabinet reshuffle.
When one supporter defended her against the rumours, saying she was busy with her businesses and family, Anite joined the conversation and brushed off the claims with another humorous response.
“Let’s ignore them. They don’t know that I am busy in the gym practising summer holidays style for the captain of my natural waters,” she wrote.
Her posts have since attracted reactions from followers, many of whom interpreted them as a sign that she remains focused on the next chapter of her life despite leaving Cabinet.
Rather than dwelling on her exit from government, Anite appears determined to embrace her new role while maintaining a positive outlook, sharing messages that emphasize resilience, preparation and personal wellbeing.
