Watoto Church Fires Top Pastor Over Shocking Sexual Misconduct Claims

Aijuka PeterBy Aijuka PeterAugust 11, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Watoto Church has dismissed one of its pastors over accusations of sexual misconduct. The announcement was made on Sunday, August 10, through a video message played during services at all its branches.

In the message, church leaders said they hold high moral standards and expect their leaders to set a good example. Pastor Julius Rwotlonyo, the head of Watoto Church Ministries, called the incident “unfortunate” and said it goes against the values the church stands for.

He described it as a sad time for the church but promised they would continue to follow the teachings of the Bible and hold members accountable. Pastor Rwotlonyo did not give specific details about the allegations. The name of the pastor has not been revealed, as their side of the story has not yet been heard.

Watoto Church was started in 1984 as Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC) and later changed its name. It has grown to become one of the biggest evangelical churches in Uganda, with many branches across the country. The church is also well known for its community programs, especially Watoto Child Care Ministries, which supports vulnerable children.

The church has always had a strict policy against moral and ethical misconduct. Leaders are required to live by strong biblical values, and anyone found breaking them, especially in cases of sexual immorality, faces quick investigation and removal from their role. Watoto leaders say being in church leadership is both a privilege and a responsibility, which demands honesty, accountability, and a life that others can look up to.
