Sad News as Student Allegedly Stabbed 32 Times to Death by Her Boyfriend

    By OnionJune 23, 2026

A wave of shock has swept through Thika town in Kiambu County after a 21-year-old college student was found dead in her rented home in a case police are treating as murder.

The victim, Elizabeth Ngina Mulwa, a student at Thika Technical Training Institute, was discovered after neighbours grew concerned when she suddenly stopped following her usual daily routine and became unreachable by phone.

Residents said alarm first rose when she failed to be seen leaving her home for several days, something that was unusual for her. Repeated calls and messages went unanswered, prompting tenants in the building to check on her wellbeing the following morning.

It was during this check that her body was found inside the house, leading to an immediate report to the police. Officers later arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area as investigations began.

Initial reports indicated that she had suffered multiple stab wounds, suggesting she was repeatedly attacked. However, her family later shared more distressing details after viewing the body at the police station.

According to relatives, the body was found without a head, which they believe had been completely severed. They also said several fingers from both hands were missing.

The family further stated that police informed them she had sustained about 32 stab wounds on her back, although they were only shown the front side of the body during identification. They described the injuries as extremely severe and difficult to comprehend.

Relatives expressed deep grief and disbelief, saying the missing body parts have not yet been recovered, adding to their pain as they search for answers and closure.

Police are continuing investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the killing and to identify those responsible. Early reports have pointed to a possible boyfriend as a suspect, although authorities have not confirmed any motive or made arrests.

Friends and neighbours described Elizabeth as a calm, friendly, and focused young woman who was nearing completion of her studies. Many said they were shocked that she could be targeted in such a violent manner.

The incident has intensified public concern over rising cases of violence against young women, with residents calling for swift investigations and justice for the victim and her family.
