UPDF Announces Massive Changes in Recruitment Schedule, Several Districts are Affected

Aijuka PeterBy Aijuka PeterAugust 6, 20251 Comment2 Mins Read

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has updated its recruitment plan for Eastern Uganda to make the process smoother and easier for young people who want to join the army. The new schedule, shared in a report on August 6, 2025, affects Mbale, Manafwa, Bududa, Namisindwa, Tororo, Busia, Butaleja, and Mbale City.

The updated schedule lists specific dates and places for recruitment:

August 7–8, 2025: Recruitment at Mbale District Headquarters for shortlisted candidates from Mbale District and Mbale City.

August 9–10, 2025: Recruitment at Mbale District Headquarters for applicants from Manafwa, Namisindwa, and Bududa.

August 11, 2025: Recruitment at Tororo District Headquarters for candidates from Tororo District.

August 12–13, 2025: Recruitment at Tororo District Headquarters for candidates from Busia and Butaleja.

Team Eleven, led by Colonel Allan Kyangungu, the Deputy Commander of the 3 Infantry Division, will handle the recruitment to ensure it runs smoothly and fairly.

The UPDF made these changes to improve the process, avoid overcrowding, and reduce confusion by clearly assigning dates and locations for each district. Shortlisted candidates must check the schedule carefully and attend at the right place and time. Missing the assigned date or location could mean losing the chance to join the army.

Applicants should prepare by bringing required documents, such as identification and education certificates, and meeting UPDF fitness standards. Contact your local UPDF office for guidance on what to bring. Joining the UPDF is a chance to serve Uganda, gain skills, and build a military career. The process is designed to find dedicated and fit individuals.

The UPDF urges all shortlisted candidates to follow the new schedule, gather their documents, and arrive prepared. For questions, reach out through official UPDF channels.
